Door Tech is a locally owned manufacturer of aluminum storm and screen doors. We are looking for dependable, productive employees to assemble storm doors in our Lexington manufacturing plant.
This is a hands-on production position. Employees gather prepared door components, assemble aluminum storm doors using pneumatic and hand tools, inspect the finished product, and place completed doors on production carts.
The right person consistently arrives on time, works at a steady pace without constant supervision, follows instructions, and takes pride in producing quality work.

Skill-Based Pay Progression:
Door Tech offers a clear path for employees to increase their hourly pay as they learn additional door-building skills:
  • $13.00 per hour: Entry-level assembly work, including attaching Z-bar components.
  • $15.00 per hour: Employees qualified to independently build standard storm doors.
  • $17.00 per hour: Employees qualified to independently build our more complex 650 full-view door slabs.
  • Employees can advance as soon as they demonstrate the required quality, safety, and production ability. Advancement is based on demonstrated skills—not simply length of employment.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather the correct aluminum door components and hardware from production carts.
  • Position door components and glazed-glass assemblies on the building table.
  • Assemble aluminum storm doors using pneumatic screwdrivers and other hand or power tools.
  • Install hinges, Z-bars, and other required components according to the work order.
  • Check completed doors for proper alignment, operation, appearance, and quality.
  • Lift completed doors and place them safely on production carts.
  • Maintain a consistent production pace throughout the shift.
  • Cross-train on small punch presses and other extrusion-processing equipment.
  • Keep the work area organized and follow established safety procedures.

What We Are Looking For:
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • A history of maintaining steady employment.
  • Ability to work continuously at a reasonable production pace without frequent reminders.
  • Ability to follow work orders and retain production instructions.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Comfort using pneumatic, hand, and power tools.
  • Attention to quality while still meeting production expectations.
  • Willingness to learn, accept instruction, and respond appropriately to correction.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move doors weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to understand and follow the work instructions and safety directions used in the plant.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, furniture, cabinet, construction, window, or door experience is helpful but not required.

Why Work at Door Tech?
  • Air-conditioned production plant.
  • Consistent daytime schedule.
  • Shorter Friday shift.
  • Steady, year-round manufacturing work.
  • Clear and attainable production expectations.
  • Hourly pay that increases as additional skills are demonstrated.
  • Individual production incentives.
  • Quarterly employee bonus opportunity.
  • 401(k) company match.
  • On-the-job training.
  • Small-team environment where dependable, productive employees are recognized.
